  • Overview

    Join the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield and Monmouth Battlefield Park personnel as they hold a commemoration of the 246th Anniversary of the Battle on Sunday June 23 from 12 - 4 p.m. This is a free event and though there is no reenactment, there are lots of exciting activities such as:
    ◆ Tour of battlefield
    ◆ “Over Here Molly Pitcher!” presentation by living history historian Stacy Roth
    ◆ Musket firing demonstration
    ◆ Infantry and cannon drill for children
    ◆ Craig House tours

    The Battle of Monmouth was originally fought on Sunday, June 28, 1778. This was considered the longest one-day battle of the American Revolution. It was also the largest full artillery duel of the American Revolution and the beginning of the Molly Pitcher legend.
