While Oceanport is a small, mostly residential town of just 6,000 people, it’s huge when it comes to Thoroughbred horse racing at beautiful Monmouth Park Racetrack.

At what's known as the Resort of Racing, visitors find the best of both worlds – the rich history of Thoroughbred racing plus some of the best entertainment at the Jersey Shore.

Monmouth Park hosts the $1 million Haskell Invitational every year. This premier racing event is the richest invitational Thoroughbred horse race in North America and annually attracts some of the top three-year-olds from the Triple Crown trail.
 
Monmouth Park has even hosted the Breeder’s Cup, which is the Super Bowl of horse racing. Get to the racetrack early to watch the informal parade of jockeys and horses before the day’s big events begin.
 
In addition to Thoroughbred racing, the park hosts family fun days every Sunday in the summer, with pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and live music. Also stop in for aorund of mini golf!
