For a more family friendly vibe, enjoy midnight fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean! For more events being held on New Year’s Eve, see Atlantic City’s Events.
Hoboken is another great spot to celebrate with numerous restaurants and nightlife attractions. The Brass Rail Restaurant & Bar plans to have drink specials and a great menu if you get there early. The Wicked Wolf Tavern and Bahama Mama’s will be passing out party favors, hosting a buffet, premium open bar and of course lots of music to dance in the new year.
In Morristown, First Night Morris County hosts an alcohol-free fun time for the whole family. As the largest “First Night” celebration in New Jersey with 400 artists, 80 performances, and 24 venues across Morristown, this event is sure to appeal to everyone in the family. Looking for an ethnic New Year’s celebration? You can find a Scottish celebration, Hogmanay Bonfire in Lawrenceville from 6:00 - 9:00 pm hosted by the Lawrence Historical Society. Go and experience the Scottish tradition of writing down all the bad things that happened in 2013 and tossing them into the fire in order to welcome the New Year with a fresh start! Enjoy bagpipers and other live music, as well as refreshments, and be home in time to put the kids to bed after a midnight kiss.
No matter how you celebrate New Year’s Eve, be sure to stay safe and remember all the wonderful lessons each year brings to your life.
