The Pietasters, Mephiskapheles, Subcommittee

October 28th, 2016
The Stanhope House
45 Main St., Stanhope, NJ 07874

Event Description

The Pietasters, formed in Washington DC, deliver a world-class performance of their style of Ska, Rock and Soul - sing along songs and dance-through-your-socks rhythms played by a group of friends who remain true to their roots.

Mephiskapheles are back in red and black. The NYC band who invented the devilish, whimsical MTV- and radio-friendly genre of Satanic Ska, then defied critics by exploring even greater possibilities for their darkly original ska fusion, have reunited with a new tour and new album in the works.

A funky hybrid of jazz, punk, rock and reggae, Subcommittee have been active players in the New Jersey original music scene since 1995. Defined by driving rhythms, sharp horn arrangements, sparring vocals and guitar driven melodies, Subcommittee have become known for the probingly whimsical and groove-laden elements of their sound-- as well as their ability to whip the dance floor into a frenzy.

Doors open 6 pm. $20 in advance, $25 cash at the door.
