SMASH Series - Spectacularly Merging Art, Science & History

November 12th, 2016
New Jersey State Museum
205 W. State St., Trenton, NJ 08625

Event Description

The SMASH Series explores the intersections of science, fine art and history throughout the Museum. Visitors will discover topics in-depth through hands-on activities, experiments, demonstrations and shows, discussions with museum experts, family-friendly activities, and more!

This SMASH event focuses on toys and games inspired by things in the Museum's collections. You probably don't think about the science, math and engineering that goes into creating them!

Visit the Discovery Den to play Lenape games of chance and skill - simple and active games for everyone!

Take on engineering challenges in the STEAM Center:

     - construct a unique toy to take home at the Maker Space

     - stretch your mind building with LEGOs

Join Curator Nicholas Ciotola in the "Toy World" exhibition to hear stories about innovation in New Jersey toy making.

Visit the Imagination Studio and create a mobile wire sculpture (this program is part of Artworks Trenton's Art All Day.)
