The Great Falls of the Passaic River is the second largest waterfall by volume, east of the Mississippi River, next to Niagara Falls.
Centered in an industrial historic district, considered to be "The Cradle of American Industry," the waterfall is bounded by park area and can be viewed 24 hours a day.
The falls were recently named a National Historic Park.
