Atlantic City’s once famous seaside galas have given way to nightclubs, bars and lounges that range from the sedate to the sensual.

Whether you prefer your night life jazzy, revved up or star struck, there is a place to go in Atlantic City. The town is best-known for its seaside casinos, most of them bursting with dance clubs.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa's night club MIXX offers high-energy excitement and infinite possibilities, boasting second floor private rooms. With balconies that overlook the dance floor, it is a prime spot to people watch and spot celebrities. Specializing in tequila, wander over to Borgata's Gypsy Bar. Next door at Harrah's Resort and Casino, “The Pool After Dark” is a premier Atlantic City nightclub experience, opening its doors to party people every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. For those who want a little entertainment with their drinks, try Eden, Harrah's bewitching lounge that features flair bartending at The Sapphire Bar.

Resorts Atlantic City's 25 Hours celebrates the "Art of the Cocktail." The bar delivers a supple European vibe, wildly shaken martini classics as well as innovative centerpiece concoctions. But the grooviest nightlife hotspot is Boogie Nights. Winner of the 2009 Atlantic City Nightlife Award for "Best Retro Club" and "Best Place to Bring a Date," Boogie Nights is the ultimate 70s and 80s dance club.

Dusk, the evolution of nightlife, is located on the Boardwalk at Caesars Atlantic City. Dusk is a 10,000-square-foot, multi-layered nightclub with a dance floor, state-of-the-art sound and bottle service. Adjacent to Dusk is the Dawn Room, featuring an old-world style pub, DJ booth, outside area and dance floor in a more laid-back setting.

At Bally's Atlantic City, the Blue Martini features a chic setting with over 100 variations of martinis, top-shelf liquor, live music and a bar with a built-in frosted ice rail. Located in the Wild Wild West section of the casino, the 90-foot-long Mountain Bar is your watering hole to cool off, play bar-top slot machines or even take a turn on the mechanical bull. During the summer season, head outside and enjoy a one of a kind beach experience at Bally's Bikini Beach Bar.

The Quarter at Tropicana features many options for the late-nighter, beginning with 32° Luxe Lounge. With its impeccable service and inviting atmosphere, it's considered one of AC's hottest night spots. Nearby at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar, you can find more than just 70 different kinds of rum. Upstairs, the dance floor is always ablaze at Missile Bar with incredible house and dance music.

Over at Providence, you won’t be able to resist dancing alongside some old and new friends. Get ready to belt it out at Planet Rose and enjoy the best karaoke around. In addition to its fantastic food, Ri-Ra Irish Pub offers nightly entertainment, traditional Irish dancing, clogging and great music.
