Pet Stingrays at Adventure Aquarium

Get up close to stingrays as you pet and feed them at this interactive aquarium exhibit.

Adventure Aquarium in Camden is the place to touch and hand feed an array of stingrays. The Stingray Beach Club is a tropical beach paradise where it's always warm and sunny. Palm trees and waterfalls surround guests as they are invited to dip their hands into the warm waters to touch and hand-feed an array of beautiful stingrays. A few lucky guests will even get the chance to wade-in with the gentle creatures of Stingray Beach Club for an up-close stingray experience. Visitors can experience the friendly slaps of the rays' fins on the water and feel the gentle kisses on their hand as these curious creatures approach to feed. Stingray Beach Club is a result of years of guest research suggesting that visitors want to continue to get 'beyond-the-glass', said Adventure Aquarium's Executive Director, Greg Charbeneau. Not only do the children learn more through personal interaction, but these up-close animal experiences also create memories worth repeating for our guests.

From the moment aquariums guests step inside the new exhibit, they'll feel the beauty as the islands come to life before their very eyes. Bright open spaces, thatched roof structures, palm trees and a sand castle are all part of the unique experience. The aquarium also includes a touch pool for its little explorers, featuring smaller stingrays, lower wall height and even clear acrylic walls for easy viewing of the stingrays from both above and below the water's surface.

Also for kids is Sand Castle Island, an interactive play area located within Stingray Beach Club that features a moat, a drawbridge, a water wheel and a sand castle. Kid-friendly elements like soft floors, interactive water play and floating toy stingrays will have the kids jumping with joy. And the little extras like a working waterfall and comfortable seating area create a quite ambiance that will give mom and dad a chance to kick back and watch their children's minds and hands at work.

While visiting the aquarium, don't miss the other attractions at the Camden Waterfront. There's the Battleship New Jersey Museum, featuring the most decorated battleship in U.S. Navy history that's permanently berthed on the waterfront as a floating museum. Also at the waterfront is the Camden Children's Garden, a 4-acre, interactive garden featuring themed and educational exhibits for kids of all ages. The Walt Whitman House is a National Historic Landmark and home of American poet Walt Whitman. It contains an extensive collection of writings, photographs and memorabilia.
