Turtle Back Zoo

Turtle Back Zoo features 20 acres of family fun. more than 150 species from around the world are featured in naturalistic habitats. Kangaroos, penguins, wolves, monkeys and giant lizards are some of the many animals you will get face to face with.

Hop on board our miniature train for a relaxing ride. Enjoy a spin on our endangered species carousel where instead of riding on a horse you can ride on a tiger or eagle! Seasonally visitors can enter our aviary and feed more than 400 free flight birds or children can ride a pony at our Essex Farm petting area.

Picnic grounds are available as is a full service cafeteria (April - Oct.) and gift shop. The zoo is the perfect place to visit for the day or to host a party or event. Strollers and wheelchairs are available for guest rental.
