Valentine’s Date Night
When it’s time to plan date night, New Jersey offers not only its share of traditional fine dining restaurants, but other spots that offer something different for your big evening.
Wineries: New Jersey is home to over 45 wineries and six wine trails. A great time to check out a few is during the Wine & Chocolate Wine Trail Weekend held on February 8-9 and February 15-16. During these two romantic weekends you can enjoy special foods and dinners at the participating wineries, plus many are offering wine tastings, tours, live music and entertainment. Villa Milagro Vineyards will have a Valentine’s Dinner Dance on February 15 for a romantic evening. Now throughout March, Laurita Winery in New Egypt hosts “Pizza and Wine Fridays” for artisanal pizza paired with the local vintages.
See a Show: Dine on a delicious meal while enjoying live theater at a dinner theater, such as Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton. Shows are featured year-round, currently showing a country music show, Beer & Broken Hearts. Served are a variety of freshly-made entrees, all-you-can-eat homemade desserts and a full-service cocktail bar. Lovers of the Blues and live Jazz can listen to smooth tunes while eating dinner at Blue Moon in South Amboy; February 14 will feature “Motown" Billy Brown. Shanghai Jazz Restaurant Bar in Madison serves up gourmet Asian cuisine with its jazz melodies six days a week. Valentine’s weekend there will be a special event and tasting.
Cruise It: Delicious food, an ever-changing scenic water view and cheek-to-check dancing are all a part of a special night during a dinner cruise onboard the Spirit of New Jersey. Special Valentine’s cruises will be on February 14 and 15 including a Champaign toast.
