Cape May Capturing Romance

At the southern tip of New Jersey, where the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay meet, sits enchanting Cape May. The nation's oldest seashore resort, the city is a National Historic Landmark where you can easily walk or bike to explore its Victorian and natural beauty.

Cape May's beaches have been one of the city's main visitor attractions for centuries. No matter the season, Cape May is a destination that always captures the romance. Many of the restored Victorian homes and cottages in the city have been turned into charming bed and breakfasts and hotels.

Half block from the beach is the Angel of the Sea bed and breakfast; all reservations include a full gourmet breakfast, afternoon tea and sweets, and evening wine and cheese, as well as perks such as complimentary access to beach chairs, beach cruiser bicycles and beach umbrellas. The Chalfonte is Cape May's oldest original hotel, and its elegant Magnolia Room Restaurant serves up traditional Southern fare, open to the public. The Grand Hotel offers modern comforts just steps away from the beach, and with its indoor and outdoor pools, fitness facilities, bike rentals and onsite Hemingway's Restaurant featuring live music and DJs, there are plenty of activities for couples to enjoy together.

Enjoying seafood in Cape May is a must while visiting. The family-owned Lobster House on the Fisherman's Wharf has been preparing fresh seafood from its own commercial fishing fleet for over four generations. Another great place to try is Black Duck on Sunset Restaurant, known for its slow-roasted honey glazed duck and homemade sorbets and ice creams.
