Mo’Pweeze Bakery, Denville – No wheat is oh-so-sweet at this award-winning Black-owned bakery, voted one of the 10 Best Gluten-Free Bakeries in the Nation by USA Today in 2023. Offering plant-based creative confections, from scrumptious cupcakes to eye-catching customized cakes that are all 100% vegan, kosher and free of the top 10 allergens, this small-batch bakery receives high marks – being gluten-free is icing on the cake!

Sweet Eats Bakery, Voorhees – Since 1987, this family-owned and run bakery has prided itself on using all real butter and natural cream to ensure their cupcakes, cakes, cookies and desserts not only look amazing but taste amazing too. They’ve received plenty of Best of awards to back that up including New Jersey Magazine, South Jersey Magazine and Philadelphia Magazine.

Butter Lane Cupcakes, East Rutherford – Baking fresh and frosting with natural ingredients (at a heavenly frosting-to-cake ratio) while avoiding excessive amounts of sugar is the key to confection perfection at this highly-ranked bakery which recently opened its third (and first NJ location) at American Dream. Try The Elvis – peanut butter frosting paired with a banana cupcake base. Ask about Cupcake Classes, too.

Carlo’s Bake Shop, Hoboken – A trip to Hoboken wouldn’t be complete without a stop at this world-renowned bakery featured on TLC’s Cake Boss. Bite into delicious traditionally made Italian pastries, cookies, elaborate customized cakes and, oh, the cannoli. So good – you just have to take home a box (or two!)

House of Cupcakes, Princeton – Founders Ruthie and Ron Bzdewka were big winners of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, so you just know these cupcakes are gonna wow you.
