2014 marks the 350th anniversary of New Jersey’s birth. Founded in 1664, The Garden State has not only contributed to the world of art, culture, sports, and music throughout its history, but has also been home to many major events. This year is no exception as New Jersey continues to host a variety of experiences that can be enjoyed by both New Jersey natives and visitors.

The annual Garden State Craft Brewers Guild Beer Festival is happening June 28, 2014 aboard the Battleship New Jersey, the nation’s largest battleship. Fun, family-friendly events are easy to come by in the Garden State, especially when summer hits. Since 1990, Oceanfest has brought in thousands of people to the Oceanfront Promenade along the Jersey Shore for a free all-day celebration that epitomizes summer. Stretching from Pier Village to Seven Presidents Park, the family-friendly affair offers tons of food, live music, children's entertainment, vendors, crafters and more. Not enough? Check out the intricate sand sculptures featured along the Jersey shoreline hand created by professional sand sculptors. As one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations in the state, the event closes with the Jersey Shore’s largest firework show, a spectacular finale to end the summer’s night.
