Manasquan

Visitors seeking a laid-back getaway will find it at Manasquan, a quaint coastal town that’s long on outdoor recreation and sundrenched beaches.

Angling for some action? Bring your fishing poles and head over to the Fisherman’s Cove Conservation Area on the Manasquan Inlet or head to the Manasquan Reservoir, a 770-acre body of water stocked with large and small-mouth bass, hybrid striped bass, bullhead catfish and tiger muskie. But the Reservoir offers more than a day of fine fishing. Pleasure-seekers can rent boats (or launch their own), hike or bike miles of trails or visit the Environmental Center to learn more about natural wetlands.

Rather just relax with your toes in the sand? Spread out a towel and catch some sun at Manasquan Beach. Or explore the local scene on Main Street, then catch a live theatrical production at Algonquin Arts Theatre
