Skate on over to Alstede Farms in Chester for a "devil" of a good time! This year's Giant Corn Maze, which covers 10 acres, is themed "Breakaway to Fun" and features fun facts about the New Jersey Devils ice hockey team. Open daily from 9am-5pm through November 19.
It's easy to scare up a wicked-good time this fall at 4JGs Orchard and Vineyard in Colts Neck. Take part in a self-guided "haunted" walk while you sip some locally made wine. Kids are welcome, but the fun is intended for the over-21 crowd. Walk is weather permitting, but the folks at 4JGs will be pouring wine rain or shine. Saturday and Sunday, October 21- 22, 12-5pm.
Ready for one last blast down the Jersey Shore? You won't want to miss this full day of fun on Saturday, October 7 in downtown Ocean City. Over 40 crafters, food vendors, live music and more—following by a brilliant display of fireworks over the ocean.
There are plenty of fall festivals around the state, but the fest at Rutgers Gardens in New Brunswick is naturally geared towards children. Join a scavenger hunt, meet animals, paint pumpkins and create crafts from raw materials found throughout the gardens. Sunday, October 15 from noon to 4pm.
Celebrating its 28th year, Bordentown's Cranberry Festival offers one of the largest juried arts and crafts markets in New Jersey. Peruse handmade, vintage and upcycled items from over 150 vendors, take the children to the Kids' Zone, listen to live music and sample food from Bordentown's Restaurant Row. On Farnsworth Avenue, Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 from 11am-5pm.
Bring the kids for an authentic farm experience at Coombs' Barnyard in Elmer. Hop on a hayride, pick a pumpkin from a real pumpkin patch and get acquainted with the barnyard animals. New this year: a corn maze! Saturdays in October (7, 14, 21 and 28) from 10am-4pm.
Roll out the barrel with Doppelgänger! The popular German band from Philly will be on stage in Warren for a day of über-fun! Enjoy traditional food and drink, dancing and vendors—plus amusement rides and carnival games for the kinder set. Gates open at Forest Lodge at 11am on Saturday, October 14, and the event runs until 5:00pm.
Celebrate all things fall and pumpkin at the Salem County Fairground in Woodstown. Now in its 14th year, the three-day event (October 13-15) features everything from live bands and hayrides to a dog parade and a pumpkin toss contest. The event's centerpiece is a giant pumpkin tower, boasting close to 500 pumpkins! Free admission and pet-friendly!
Ahoy, lighthouse lovers! Explore the state's 11 lighthouses, two maritime museums and two life-saving stations over the weekend of October 21-22. See how many you can climb! Your participation helps raise funds to preserve and restore our state's brilliant maritime legacy! Challenge hours are from 8am-6pm both days. Some lighthouses will host night climbs, too.
The folks at Laurita Winery in New Egypt know how to host a good time. Cozy up to a blazing fire pit while you enjoy a glass of vino and tasty fare from popular area food trucks.
